Apple Pie Puffs made with TWIX® Cookie Bars

Makes: 32 puffs

Direction

  1. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine apples, butter, brown sugar and cinnamon, and toss to evenly combine. Heat in microwave for about a minute, or until apples become tender. Place in refrigerator for approximately 30 minutes.

  2. Fold large TWIX® Cookie Bar pieces into chilled apple mixture.

  3. Cut each piece of prepared biscuit dough into 4 pieces and portion ½ T apple filling into the center of each. Firmly pinch closed and form a ball. Place in refrigerator for 5-10 minutes.

  4. In a small saucepan, heat oil to 350ºF.

  5. Remove prepared puff from the refrigerator and gently place 3 to 4 puffs into hot oil, frying until light golden brown. When done, transfer fried puffs to a paper towels to soak up extra oil. Repeat for the rest of the puffs.

  6. Lightly toss puffs in cinnamon sugar. Cool slightly and serve.
