Indian Butter Chicken

Makes: 4 servings

Yogurt and spice marinated chicken in a sauce of butter, spice, onions, ginger and tomatoes over UNCLE BEN’S® INTERNATIONAL GRAINS® Basmati Rice served with grilled garlic naan


  • 3 cups UNCLE BEN’S® INTERNATIONAL GRAINS® Basmati Rice, prepared
  • 1 onion, small, diced
  • ¼ cup butter, unsalted, diced
  • 1 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • ½ teaspoon ground red pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup tomato puree
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 chicken breasts, boneless, skinless, cooked, chunked
  • 4 pieces garlic naan bread, warmed
  • Cilantro for garnish


  1. Sauté onions in half of the butter over medium heat. Add garlic, ginger and spices and cook until aromatic. Add tomato puree and cook for five minutes. Add cream and butter and cook for five minutes. Season to taste. Serve in shallow bowl with chicken, naan and rice.
